Geoff Keighley states that the Game Awards 2020 is still happening on time, more details to follow in the coming weeks

In a recent episode of IGN Unfiltered, Geoff Keighley clarified some of his plans for the Game Awards 2020. The event is still happening on time with no delays in sight according to Keighley himself. Here’s what he had to say, courtesy of Nintendo Wire:

“Yeah… what I will say about it is, we have a very interesting plan for the show this year. We’re definitely doing it. A lot of people are [asking], ‘Are you delaying it? The Oscars are being postponed, are you postponing The Game Awards?’ We are absolutely not.”

Keighley also states that news about the Game Awards 2020 would arrive “in the coming weeks.” Interestingly enough, IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey noted that this interview took place at the end of July. This means that news about the Game Awards 2020 is coming very soon.

“We’ll share more in the coming weeks about it, but it’s actually probably going to be our biggest show yet. We are obviously not going to have 10,000 people in a room together, physically, for the show, but I think… you’ll see a little bit of this with how we do Gamescom.”

Geoff Keighley will host Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 27th so maybe details about the Game Awards will arrive afterwards. In the meantime, stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest gaming news and updates!
