In some unfortunate news, it seems that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition’s online multiplayer is region-locked. This is stated at the bottom of the official site by Square Enix. Here’s the disclaimer found in the site:
*In online multiplayer mode, a player will only be matched with others in the region specific to player’s software.
*Lag may occur during online play, depending on internet connection speed.
This means that players will only be matched with people who own the game within the same region. We hope that Square Enix removes this region locking so that more players may join up together. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition releases on August 27th for PS4, Switch, iOS and Android. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news!
