Square-Enix recently held its “Letter from the Producer LIVE” stream to detail the upcoming Patch 5.3 update to Final Fantasy XIV Online which launches August 11th.
In this stream, they announced they would be expanding the benefits to the game’s free trial. With this update to the program, players can now play through all of A Realm Reborn and Heavensward for free!
The #FFXIV Free Trial is being expanded to include:
☑️ Level cap raised to 60
☑️ Heavensward (through Patch 3.56)
☑️ Dark Knight/Astrologian/Machinist

Originally, free players had access to all content up to Level 35 but this new update raises the cap to 60 and gives free players all of the content from Heavensward, the first FFXIV expansion. This includes 3 additional Job Classes, the Au Ra race, and every piece of content in FFXIV up to Patch 3.56
This upgrade to the free trial will be added to the Starter Edition of the game at no cost.
They are also making updates to streamline the base game, A Realm Reborn. If you’ve been thinking about trying Final Fantasy XIV now may be the time.
