Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa states that price cuts for the Switch aren’t planned at this time. Nintendo hopes to sell the Switch over the long term and “for as long as possible.” Nintendo plans to maximize profitability by increasing the number of units sold. Games such as Pokemon Sword/Shield and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are expected to push hardware.
