SEGA has revealed and launched its official website for SEGA UNIVERSE, a new initiative that celebrates legacy IPs with various projects celebrating their respective anniversaries.

Featuring the concept “NO OLD, STAY GOLD,” SEGA UNIVERSE will celebrate the Fantasy Zone 40th anniversary, Out Run 40th anniversary, Streets of Rage 35th anniversary, Rent A Hero 35th anniversary, Guardian Heroes 30th anniversary, NiGHTS 30th anniversary, Dynamite Deka 30th anniversary, Sakura Wars 30th anniversary, and SGGG (Segagaga) 25th anniversary. It’s unclear what these SEGA UNIVERSE projects will entail, however.

The official website offers the following introduction and about section for SEGA UNIVERSE, along with a new concept video:

Introduction

“Common sense? We decided to crash straight into it.
We seriously chased the question, “Can’t this be more interesting?”
And carved out landscapes no one had ever seen before.

Rough. Almost reckless. Sometimes spinning our wheels.
But that’s exactly why it was real.
Even when people laughed at the challenge, it shone brighter than anything else.

Time has passed.
With changing eras, some things were lost.
Still, there is an impulse that never changed.
A glare that never faded.

Not to turn that recklessness into nostalgia.
Not to say, “Those were the good old days.”

That frenzy is still alive somewhere, even now.
Never rusted. Never dulled.

So let’s do it again.
Next time, even bolder.”
