Housemarque has released the previously announced free update for SAROS, titled “Zenith,” which is available now on PlayStation 5. The update adds New Game Plus, accessibility options, and more.
Some of the new accessibility options include slower projectiles, auto-firing, motion sensor aiming, and high contrast display. It also adds new Carcosan Modifiers, so that more experienced players can raise the difficulty by taking on new trials and the newly added Eclipse Layers, the latter of which is available in New Game Plus. Those who have equipped several trial modifiers will see their progress reflected in a new crown and golden armor that Arjun dons. Finally, the update adds Overlord Rush, which serves as a boss rush mode where players can re-experience some of Carcosa’s biggest challenges.

SAROS is available now on PlayStation 5. The game features the likes of Rahul Kohli as the protagonist in a mix of fast-paced roguelike action and cosmic horror. Final Weapon reviewed SAROS and gave it a 4.5/5. We described it as a “fantastic experience from beginning to end.” The PlayStation Store describes the game as follows:
Beneath the shadow of an ominous eclipse, Arjun Devraj (Rahul Kohli) is a Soltari enforcer who will stop at nothing to pursue answers on the shape-shifting Carcosa, a world of dark secrets and hostile inhabitants.
Master electrifying bullet ballet combat – intense projectile-focused gameplay with a unique, neon-infused esthetic – to overcome ferocious enemies and spectacular boss fights.
With decades of experience crafting adrenaline-fueled, arcade-inspired mechanics, Housemarque is back with the next evolution of the award-winning, third-person action seen in Returnal.
