MAGES. has revealed the prologue intro movie for its upcoming occult visual novel Seeker Eye. The movie features a theme song by Kanako Itou.
The post revealing the new prologue video is available here:
Seeker Eye will release this winter for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 in Japan.
The staff of the new game includes:
- Planning / Concept: Fumihiro Kitahara (Science Adventure series art director)
- Scenario: Ryou Yasumoto (STEINS;GATE 0, CHAOS;CHILD)
- Music: Takeshi Abo (STEINS;GATE and Memories Off series, etc.)
- Supervision: Tatsuya Matsubara (Science Adventure series producer), Naotaka Hayashi (Science Adventure series scenario writer)
MAGES. is the creator of the Science Adventure series, and many of the staff from the series are working on Seeker Eye. Unlike the Science Adventure games, Seeker Eye explores the realm of supernatural phenomena that cannot be explained by science. As a result, many of the themes and narrative elements will be different.
The story is based on “The Red Roof House,” a ghost story that was first released on the MAGES. Horror YouTube channel back in 2024. Players in the real world who read the story become “infected by the supernatural.” What began as a ghost story as entertainment ends up involving the player and the characters of the story.
STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT, the most recent game in the Science Adventure series, is available now for PC via Steam worldwide and coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on October 29.
Final Weapon reviewed STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT and gave it a 4/5 score, noting that it’s “a great experience from beginning to end. While there are some frustrations with a lack of subtitles on images and the text crunch, I feel like I now understand just why people hold this game in such high regard.”
