CD Projekt Red has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, an upgraded version of the critically acclaimed title with brand-new features. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered launches on September 29 as a free upgrade, and it will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and Battle.net.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered includes a plethora of new features, including improved combat and mounting, a massive graphical overhaul, PlayStation 5 Pro support, Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive features, a new shading model, AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 support, and so much more. The Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will also be free going forward.
In addition, a new trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past was revealed. This new expansion was made possible by co-developer Fool’s Theory, who brought veteran Witcher developers together to expand Geralt’s saga. The new expansion will launch in 2027.
CD Projekt Red is not only collaborating with Blizzard to bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered and Songs of the Past to Battle.net, however. Players who purchase the expansion on Blizzard’s platform will unlock a special Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo 4, with further details to be revealed at BlizzCon in September.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt initially released on May 19, 2015, and the game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
During The Game Awards 2024, CD Projekt Red officially unveiled The Witcher IV, which will star Ciri as the playable protagonist instead of Geralt. The Witcher IV is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 with a targeted release date for 2028.
