Crimson Desert Version 2.00 Enhanced Update is Now Live

Pearl Abyss has released the version 2.00 “Enhanced” update for open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert, featuring new story moments, expanded voice-over & language support, and all post-launch updates and additions to date.

Major Updates

 
Patch 2.00.00, the Crimson Desert Enhanced update, adds new cutscenes and story moments to enhance the game’s narrative, along with five new voice languages and one new subtitles & interface language. It also introduces new skills and improvements to the skill system. We hope this update makes the journey through Pywel more enjoyable for those who have already explored it, as well as those just beginning their adventure.

Patch Details

Major Updates of Crimson Desert Enhanced

  • Improved the main story and quests.
    • Improved the narrative flow of the main story.
    • Added knowledge, items, memory fragments, dialog lines and conversations to strengthen the narrative of bosses.
  • Added five new voice languages, and one new game language.
    • Voice languages: German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese.
    • Game language: Arabic
  • Improved the skill learning system.
    • Added “Abyss Link” as a new skill-learning resource.
      • When a character uses Abyss Artifacts to learn a skill, an equivalent number of Abyss Links will be granted to the other playable characters.
    • Improved the skill system so that skill progression can now be reset inidividually for each character instead of being reset for all characters at once.
      • Each character can use their own Abyss Links to learn skills.
      • When skill progression is reset, the Abyss LInks used by the inidividual character are refunded.
    • With the addition of Abyss Link, all existing skill progression will be reset the first time the game is launched after the update. Any resources previously used to learn skills, including Abyss Artifacts, will be refunded.
  • Added a features that allows you to carry over abyss Links and other in-game currency from an existing save file when starting a new game.
    • This features is available after completing all main quests.
  • Added 8 new skills for Kliff.
    • The new skills become available after reaching a certain point in the main story.
  • Improved the UI of main quests.

Main Improvements

Content

  • Fixed an issue where items would not be crafted properly at the Kilnden Workshop.
  • Fixed an issue where Blackstar could be ridden without a cooldown in certain situations.
  • Fixed an issue where the player would be sent to the prison at Calphadean Castle after being captured as a wanted criminal in Calphade while the region was at war.

Controls

  • Added the “Flying Mount Controls” option.
    • Go to Others > Input to choose from “Camera” or “Manual.”
    • Camera: Flying Mounts now move in the direction the camera is facing.
    • Manual: Flying mounts no longer the direction of the camera, and can ascend or descend using other inputs.

Combat / Action

  • Bilwise will now reward you with “Double Jump” during the quest “Unexpected Gift.”
  • Reduced the damage received by characters accompanying the player.
  • Fixed an issue where Axiom Force could not be used while flying in safe zones.
  • Fixed an issue where player took damage when The Forgotten General’s phantom knight was spawned nearby.
  • Fixed an issue where the ricochet shot effect of Strongbow Gloves was not applied when firing special arrows.
  • Fixed an issue where the character was thrown in a different direction from the throwing animation after using the skill “Nature’s Grasp.”
  • Separated the battle against Golden Star into distinct phases and added phase-specific attack patterns.

UI

  • Fixed an issue where the Contribution UI occasionally failed to disappear during gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue where certain skill knowledge appeared in the notifications tab.

Localization

  • Fixed various localization errors and improved localization quality across all languages.

Others

  • Fixed an issue where images of the memory appeared slowly when shining the lantern on memory fragments.
  • Fixed an issue where the guide message did not disappear upon acquiring a memory fragment using “Blinding Flash” in Chapter 2.
  • Fixed an issue where Damiane could use “Shield Toss” while falling.
  • Fixed an issue where the musket remained visible on the back when participating in minigames such as Duo with it equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where the Sspectre knight summoned by the “Spirit’s Judgment” Abyss Gear could be hit by projectiles.
  • Fixed an issue where players were not dismounted when falling from heights under certain circumstances while on a mount.
  • Fixed an issue where trade goods could not be moved to the horse inventory at the stable.
  • Improved the images for certain quests and knowledge.
  • Fixed an issue where puzzle hints were obscured by tree roots.
  • Fixed an issue where certain outfits appeared unnatural.
  • Fixed an issue where the crane would break when firing an element-imbued bow at its iron chains during the House Roberts > Estate in Dismay > Sealed in Stone > Extract the Buried Relic mission.
  • Demenissian Chainsaws can now be donated as camp weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where certain terrain and objects appeared unnatural.
  • Improved Chapter 9’s “Mysterious Voice” guide cutscene to allow players to restart if Woosa or Maegu dies.

Known Issues

Crimson Desert launched on March 19 for Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam for $69.99. A Deluxe Edition is available for $79.99 with Standard Edition contents and the Deluxe Pack (Kairos Pack, Balgran Shield, and Exclaire Horse Tack Set). A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned to release in early 2027.
