The upcoming Crazy Taxi: World Tour showcased its multiplayer elements in a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. The trailer features players driving together through the San Francisco-inspired streets to Bad Religion’s song, ‘Ten in 2010’. It also confirms the return of legacy characters Gena, B.D. Joe, and Gus.
A news release from SEGA states that players will compete for passengers and dominance of the streets. New shortcuts can be discovered together, and it promises to deliver a chaotic, high-octane multiplayer experience. Multiple game modes are mentioned, but no details on these game modes have been provided.
A closed network test will be held from September 11 at 5:00 p.m. PT to September 13 at 5:00 p.m. PT. Applications for the test are available until August 31. The closed network test will be supported on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam or Xbox on PC.
Signing up for the closed network test will not guarantee participation. Selection will either be random or through priority consideration programs on the game’s official Discord.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour Multiplayer First-Look Trailer
World Tour is the first major entry in the Crazy Taxi series since 2002’s High Roller. The new game is part of a move by SEGA to revive its dormant IPs such as Jet Set Radio. The game was first announced at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase alongside a reveal trailer.
The game will feature returning songs by The Offspring and Bad Religion, including ‘All I Want’, ‘Change the World’, ‘Them and Us’, and ‘Inner Logic’. SEGA will reveal further information about the soundtrack, including new, additional artists, at a later date.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour will release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The game will also be available to play via Xbox on PC.
