The Pokémon Company has announced that “Part 1: Bubbly Basin” of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass launches on August 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 alongside update 2.0.0. New details about Part 2 of the Expansion Pass were also revealed alongside an extended trailer for Part 1: Bubbly Basin.

Part 1: Bubbly Basin, Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass owners can look forward to heading to a new underwater town. While underwater, players can grow watermelons with the help of Pokémon with the Water specialty, while Pokémon with the Generate specialty can power bubble machines or activate streetlights. There will also be more more Pokémon, new outfits, a power-up for the move Surf, and smoothies.

There’s also a hole in the sea floor, allowing you to explore the deep dark sea in an exciting adventure alongside Pokémon by following the glowing coral. Players can build with buoyant blocks, which allow you to make buildings that are only possible underwater and float at different levels. You can also build a Sharpedo submarine to make a room that feels like a secret base.

Part 1: Bubbly Basin will be available alongside update 2.0.0, which is free to all players. The update lets you learn the move Dive from Manaphy. With Dive, players can swim alongside Water-type Pokémon and build underwater.

Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 will follow up in late 2026 with new accessories that allow players to dress up alongside their favorite Pokémon. There will also be more furniture pieces and Pokémon.

Pokémon Pokopia is available now on Nintendo Switch 2 for $69.99 digitally and physically as a Game-Key Card title. Final Weapon reviewed Pokémon Pokopia and awarded it a 4.5/5 score, noting that the game “shattered expectations” and engrosses players in its various systems.
