A cowardly nameless guy meets a fearless girl that changes his world in the anime adaptation of Byū’s Let’s go KAIKIGUMI manga series! The story of Let’s go KAIKIGUMI focuses on a nameless man who is easily scared of ghosts. When he happens to get involved with the supernatural, he crosses paths with Mechako, a girl who runs with the Kaiki-gumi. The Kaiki-gumi is an organization that polices the supernatural, and Mechako takes in the nameless guy to help her revive Kaiki-gumi to its former glory.

New episodes of Let’s go KAIKIGUMI will release on Sundays at 1:30 a.m. PT / 4:30 a.m. ET on Crunchyroll. Episodes will be released with English subs. Let’s go KAIKIGUMI will feature 12 episodes in total.

OP/ED, Cast and Staff

Idol group SWEET STEADY performs the opening theme song “Kimi ga Waruindakara ne (‘Cuz It’s Creepy, Right?),” while Uketsu performs the ending theme song “Iwashite ne? (May You Curse Me?).”

The cast includes:

  • Tasuku Hatanaka as unnamed protagonist
  • Ruriko Aoki as Mechako
  • Shigeru Chiba as the narrator
  • Mayumi Shintani as Cursed Doll
  • Kana Hanazawa as Yukinko

Yutaka Hirata directs the anime at C-Station, Mutsumi Ito is supervising and writing the series scripts, and Yoshimitsu Yamashita is the character designer. Uketsu, an article writer on the Omocoro web service and author The Strange House novel and manga, is working on the anime’s production. Uketsu is also credited for the ending theme song.

Crunchyroll is streaming the Let’s go KAIKIGUMI anime worldwide, excluding Japan and China. In Japan, the anime will run on TBS and 27 affiliated channels, along with select streaming services.
