Lump of Sugar has announced that its visual novel Magical Charming! will release for Nintendo Switch in Japan in 2026. It is unknown if it will release in other regions at a later date.
The story focuses on Ritsu Natsumoto, a character that “was unhappy because he had an unproductive summer vacation. One day he wakes up in a strange room where he meets a girl called Orietta, she reveals he is a magic user and takes him to Wizure Mahou Gakuin, a magical school. However, only girls should be able to use magic! Ritsu starts his new school life while investigating the reasons behind his power.”
Last year, Kawaiinium and Frontier Works released the remastered version of another Lump of Sugar-developed romance visual novel, Tayutama: It’s happy days. It is available now on PC via Steam and has English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options. Here’s an overview of Tayutama: It’s happy days, via the official Steam page:
This updated edition, supervised by Lump of Sugar, has been reimagined as an all-ages experience, partially remastered in HD, and localized into multiple languages.
Story
The wild days I spent with the Tayutai were nothing short of life-changing… So much so that I completely forgot I’d even won a hot spring trip in the shopping district raffle.
Now that things have finally settled down, I—Yuri Mito—am about to enjoy my last summer break as a student at Sohsei Academy.
Just as I hit peak exhaustion after everything that happened, I remembered it: the hot spring voucher, almost expired and totally forgotten.
This is a story that picks up after the main events… or maybe one that could’ve happened somewhere along the way.
