Warframe: Tau Narrative Chapter Announced

During TennoCon 2026, Digital Extremes announced a new narrative chapter for Warframe, titled “Tau,” releasing later this year. It also revealed a Fortnite collaboration, an upcoming “Amir’s Shockwave” Nightwave remix, the Iceblade of Narin update, and more. 

Warframe: Tau takes players to the Tau system in a new narrative chapter and quest. Players will visit the Sentient ring city of Fornax, where Albrecht Entrati awaits the return of the Tenno, and take on crime boss The Hunra (voiced by Jonathan Bullock). It also includes a new Warframe, Brysko, a silent noir detective, whose inner monologues are voiced by Matthew Mercer. He uses brass knuckle melee weapons and explosive playing cards, alongside a revolver called the Corecracker. Speaking of cards, the new update will also add a card-based minigame titled Portau, alongside new original music and a new enemy faction known as the Fornax Drowners.

Today, a new collaboration with Fortnite is live, featuring the Excalibur skin and “THE PARTY OF YOUR LIFETIME” music track in Fortnite Festival. A Mesa Heirloom Collection is available within Warframe, and in August, a new Nightwave remix titled “Amir’s Shockwave” will release. The latter features new Warframe: 1999-themed cosmetics and other rewards. In Fall 2026, Citrine Prime will launch alongside the “Iceblade of Narin” update, which will add the female ice-themed 66th Warframe.

Warframe is available now on iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The Tau narrative chapter will release later this year.
