A new report from Variety has revealed that Jeymes Samuel will be the director of the upcoming Streets of Rage movie. Additionally, the writers of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, will write the other major SEGA film adaptation.
Jeymes Samuel previously directed The Book of Clarence and streaming exclusive western The Harder They Fall. Previously, Derek Kolstad wrote a draft of the screenplay back in 2022, but he has since departed the project. The story for the upcoming Streets of Rage adaptation is currently unknown, though SEGA and distributor Paramount Pictures will likely reveal new details at a later date. In the meantime, the recent entry in the Streets of Rage franchise, Streets of Rage 4, is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
