Arc System Works and TAITO have revealed new details regarding gameplay features and new additions in the upcoming BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons update, titled BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons Boosted. Launching on August 20, BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons Boosted brings new features and balance adjustments, Bob’s Bonus Gates content, and increased drop rates for items.

BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons Boosted will feature new bonus stages, which are accessible by passing through Bob’s Gate in the Dungeon and selecting from 3 Bonus Gates. These gates lead to the Skip Gate and the newly added Item Room and the Combo Room.

The Item Room includes useful items and treasure chests that appear randomly, includes some new items and additional items that let you use Skill Bubbles. The new items can only be used within that Dungeon run and disappear after returning to the lobby, so players should use it wisely. Meanwhile, the Combo Room is a stage where players can defeat enemies to rack up combos and restore the Baron Timer, which shows the time until the invincible character Baron von Blubba appears.

The Chack’n Cake item makes a return, granting invincibility within the stage of use and defeating enemies by simply ramming into them. This is one of the items that will disappear after returning to the lobby. The new x2 Gummy doubles materials obtained from treasure chests, and Gold Sugarees doubles the Sugarees earned as well.

Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons launched on November 27, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The Standard Edition is available for $39.99, and the Deluxe Edition is available for $49.99) featuring a digital soundtrack with 25 tracks and a digital art book containing 113 pages of character design materials and concept art. Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons includes Bubble Symphony, a port of the 1997 home console release.
