Arc System Works and TAITO has announced that BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons is getting a new major free update on August 20, titled BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons Boosted. The BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons Boosted update brings new features and balance adjustments, Bob’s Bonus Gates content, and increased drop rates for items.

- Bob’s Bonus Gates – Bub’s twin brother Bob makes his debut, supporting Bub on his adventure!! Players can choose from three exciting bonus gates which best suits the moment for their adventure enjoyment: a stage packed with treasure chests and items, a stage where you can defeat large numbers of enemies at once and rack up combos, and a skip gate that lets you jump ahead multiple floors.
- Significantly Increased Drop Items – The variety and drop rates of items have been expanded, and powerful new items useful for adventure have also been added.

Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons launched on November 27, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The Standard Edition is available for $39.99, and the Deluxe Edition is available for $49.99) featuring a digital soundtrack with 25 tracks and a digital art book containing 113 pages of character design materials and concept art.
Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons includes Bubble Symphony, a port of the 1997 home console release. There’s a two-player co-op mode where players choose one of four characters to blow bubbles, trap enemies, and pop them through various stages. Bubble Symphony also features worlds and characters based on other TAITO titles.
