SEGA has announced its latest round of updates and events for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis to kick off April 2026. On April 1, the first of many updates for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will arrive with Chapter 8 of the Main Story.
In Chapter 8 of the main story, the protagonist of Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is called by Crawford, who breaks the news that he’s lost contact with a research team in the Alter Realm. The protagonist takes up the call in order to investigate what happened to the team’s members.
In addition, Slayers will receive the new active Class Skill, Gunblade Focus Extra Drive. This new skill consumes 3 Gunblade Focus Gauge levels to temporarily strengthen Relentless Blade. While in effect, Slayers can use one super-enhanced Slug Shot. The update also brings some balance changes to Slayers and Gunblade abilities.
The Limited-Time Quest: Invasion on Shifting Sands will also be available on April 1 with new Title Tasks and Limited-time Tasks. Invasion on Shifting Sands will be getting a partial route update on April 8 with a new route features Mobile Cannon ALR. Limited-time Quest Drill: Fierce Warlord Arena, Drill: Flaming Wave Dash, and Drill: Flaming Hell Dash will also be made available on April 15, April 22, and April 28 in succession.
Limited-time Urgent Quest: Omen of the Planetbreaker D.2 is making a comeback. Players can take on Malignant Dark Falz Solus with a team of 8 to complete new Limited-time Tasks. Complete Tasks to earn Reward Box Medal – Solus ’26. The 14-star Leafladio weapon series will be upgradeable 14-star Rarity Arbaradio weapon series, ad the Spradiovolt II items needed for the upgrade can be acquired from Limited-time Quests.
On April 7, Major Target Suppression Mission: Luther, False Conqueror Manifest will become available featuring Malignant Ruine Luther. Players will fail the quest if they reach a set number of incapacitations in this challenging quest, but those who complete the quest may also complete Weekly Tasks and a Title Task for more rewards, including SG and N-Master Cubes.
Super Origin Festival ’26 will begin on April 22 and introduce anniversary-themed decorations to Central City and Region Mags. Anni Rappy and Emperappy will also appear on the field, and Xiemi will return with her form-fitting hooded dress. Xiemi will offer rewards in return for completing her requests. There also be Limited-time Tasks with rewards like TA Customization Disc X/Omni, N-Master Cubes, and Arms Refiner II.
