The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Ryūto and Tetsuhiro Nabeshima’s Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship! light novel series has confirmed the anime’s October 2026 premiere. A new teaser trailer also revealed the anime’s main cast and staff members.
The cast includes:
- Makoto Furukawa as Hiro
- Konomi Inagaki as Hiro’s love interest Mimi
- Anna Nagase as Hiro’s partner Elma
- Haruka Shiraishi as Serena, a noble’s daughter and military officer
Norihiko Nagahama directs the anime at Studio A-Cat. Takamitsu Kōno is in charge of the series scripts. Masami Sueoka is the character designer, Jin Aketagawa is the sound director, and Kenta Higashiohji is the music composer.
Ryūto began serializing the ongoing original story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) website in February 2019. Kadokawa publishes the series in print with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. Kadokawa will publish the series’ 17th volume on May 9, and Seven Seas Entertainment will publish the 14th volume in English on January 13.
Shinichi Matsui launched the manga adaptation of the novel series on ComicWalker in November 2019. Kadokawa published the manga’s 11th compiled book volume on March 23.
