Bungie has released another entry in its cinematic trailer series for Marathon, this time focused on the Thief shell. This is the fourth shell cinematic trailer so far.
The Thief shell is one of seven shells in the game, which include the Destroyer, Assassin, Triage, Recon, Vandal, and Rook. So far, trailers have released for Destroyer, Assassin, and Rook, leaving only Recon, Vandal, and Triage without a cinematic. The trailer showcases the Thief’s ability to scan for loot using her visor, use a grappling hook to reach higher ground, and use a Pickpocket Drone to steal the loot of enemy runners. Recently, Bungie released Marathon‘s first end-game zone, titled Cryo Archive, on March 20. In order to access the location, players will need to be in teams of three, be at least level 25, have all six factions unlocked, and have a minimum loadout value of 5,000 credits. In a recent post, director Joseph Ziegler stated that they are looking into ways to let players access the area by themselves and on days aside from weekends. They’re also trying to see if subroutines can be more guaranteed as a drop from vaults.
Lastly, Marathon is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. In the coming days, weeks, and months more updates for Marathon will release. This will include more runner shells, cosmetics, and several events, which will all be available between now and the release of season 1 in June 2026.
