The Drops of God Anime Confirms April 10 Premiere and Half-Year Run

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Tadashi Agi and Shū Okimoto’s The Drops of God manga revealed the anime’s April 10 premiere and half-year run (two cours). A new promotional, key visual, and cast members were also revealed.

The Drops of God premieres on April 10 at 11:30 p.m. JST / 10:30 a.m. EST on Tokyo MX before premiering on Kansai TV and BS NTV. What’s more, Crunchyroll will stream The Drops of God as the anime airs in Japan.

The new cast members include:

  • Yūko Kaida plays Ryōko Kiryū
  • Shinshū Fuji plays Shirō Fujieda
  • Misa Watanabe plays Maki Saionji
  • Yūya Uchida plays Sōichirō Mishima
  • Jin Urayama as Robert Doi

HOKUTO will perform the opening theme song “hate you? love you?,” while Maaya Uchida will perform the ending theme song “Kami no Shizuku. 

 

The main cast of the anime includes:

  • Takuya Satō as Issei Tomine
  • Kazuya Kamenashi as Shizuku Kanzaki
  • Maaya Uchida as Miyabi Shinohara
  • Banjō Ginga as Yutaka Kanzaki

Kenji Itoso directs the series at Satelight in collaboration with YANCHESTER. Yū Mitsuru supervises and writes the series scripts, Takehiro Suwa designs the characters, and Eishi Segawa composes the music.

Tadashi Agi, the pen name of siblings Shin and Yuko Kibayashi, launched The Drops of God with artist Okimoto in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in 2004. The first manga series in the franchise ended in June 2014. Comixology and Kodansha USA Publishing have released the manga in English digitally.
