Suda51 Shares Message for ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN Launch Day

Grasshopper Manufacture has released “ultra-violent” sci-fi action game ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN as the studio’s first self-published title, and to celebrate the launch, Goichi “Suda51” Suda released a special message for fans. In addition, the launch trailer for ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN was released. 

Here’s the message from Suda51:

“ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN is our first original title in quite some time, and I believe we’ve managed to craft an experience that further elevates the action game standard Grasshopper Manufacture has built up over the years.

“Our protagonist, Romeo, is someone I wanted to leave a strong impression with fans, and not just in his physical strength. While our past works have produced various well-loved iconic characters, this time I really wanted to create a character who could be loved by game fans the world over.

“When writing the scenario, I wrote the line ‘From here on out, you’re a dead man,’ and that just rang completely true to me–everything changed after that. I felt something in that moniker, which is why it became the title of the game itself. I hope players enjoy their time with Romeo, and even after finishing the game they’ll want to return to this world, and continue the adventure aboard the lonely spaceship floating through space.”

What’s more, Suda51 confirmed that Grasshopper Manufacture has plans to release another new game in 2026 after ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN. The company is in with various companies for a physical release of ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN, and physical artbook and original soundtrack will be released. The developers are also doing what they can to make ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN for Nintendo Switch 2 a reality. 

ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN is available now for $49.99 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam. Final Weapon reviewed ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN and awarded it a 4/5 score, noting that the game has a “wacky and confident vision” that will have fans raving for years to come.
