3goo has released arcade-style racing game 4PGP for $19.99 on Nintendo Switch and $24.99 on Nintendo Switch 2. 4PGP is 3goo’s first in-house racing game, and players can expect 120 FPS support on Nintendo Switch 2, along with 4K resolution and four-player split-screen. The Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Pack will be available for $4.99, and a PC (Steam) version will release at a later date.
“4PGP marks 3goo’s first foray into in-house development. Inspired by the demand for local multiplayer racing experiences, this arcade racer brings the thrill of the 1990s arcade scene to a new generation on Nintendo Switch,” said Quanah Sugiyama, Project Manager on 4PGP. “The title 4PGP, short for Four-Player Grand Prix, embodies that concept, blending the classic arcade spirit with modern design to deliver an experience everyone can enjoy together.”
3goo and Vision Reelle have released a new trailer for upcoming arcade racing game 4PGP highlighting various features, including 120 FPS support on Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 version of 4PGP also supports 4K resolution and four-player split-screen.
Lastly, here’s an overview of the game, via 3goo:
4PGP Four-Player Grand Prix is a multiplayer arcade-style racing game for players of all skill levels, blending the feel of classic 90s racers with the performance of modern titles. Up to four players can race together locally in split-screen. With GameShare™ on Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, players can race together locally or online. Players choose from Rookie, Novice, Veteran, and Expert difficulty settings, and can hop into Quick Race, Championship, and Time Attack Modes across multiple tracks from around the world. As they improve, racers expand a growing collection of unlockable cars and keep coming back to chase faster times and closer finishes.
Developed by 3goo and informed by the team’s experience publishing racing titles such as Test Drive and Gear.Club, 4PGP Four-Player Grand Prix brings together veterans of the arcade racing genre. The game features design contributions from Kenji Sasaki, known for classics such as Sega Rally and Ridge Racer, as well as an original soundtrack composed by Tomoyuki Kawamura, the composer behind racing scores in titles such as Sega Rally, Virtua Racing, and Tokyo Xtreme Racer.
Players hopping into 4PGP Four-Player Grand Prix will experience:
- Arcade Racing for Every Skill Level: Four difficulty settings, Rookie, Novice, Veteran, and Expert, as well as an Assist Mode for younger racers, making it easy for newcomers to jump in while giving experienced racers a real challenge.
- Multiplayer Mayhem with Game Share: Race solo or with up to four players in split-screen, and join friends with GameShare locally on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, or play online with others on Nintendo Switch 2 via GameChat.
- Multiple Game Modes: Hop into Quick Races for fun instant, tackle a full set of courses in Championship Mode, or chase perfect laps in Time Attack Mode.
- Unlockable Tracks and Vehicles: Race and unlock an expanding lineup of 14 circuits and build out your collection of 19 cars.
- 90s Vibe, Modern Tech: Enjoy a 90s-inspired arcade racing feel paired with modern visuals and performance, powered by a custom engine. For Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, the game supports 4K resolution and 120fps.
