XSEED Games, Aniplex, Too Kyo Games and Media.Vision revealed an upcoming update for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy that will allow players to start The Hundred Line 2, the sequel that’s included and playable in the launch version, without clear data.
Going forward, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will be considered a “1&2 Pack,” and to celebrate the announcement, character designer Rui Komatsuzaki released new artwork for both games. A new trailer was also released, and Aniplex will release a special physical edition of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy 1&2 Pack with a slipcase featuring the new artwork at Aniplex Online Store and Amazon Japan.
Starting The Hundred Line 2 will automatically unlock the Chapter Select feature, which allows players to start any date or points before and after branching paths. Players can use this feature to reach all 100 possible endings.
What’s more, Aniplex will release all 112 tracks of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Original Soundtrack on various streaming platforms on January 17. A “Director’s Edition” physical edition with 88 tracks selected by composer Masafumi Takada will be available on April 24 in Japan.
Further, Too Kyo Games plans to reveal new information about The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy on January 16 at 1:00 a.m. PST / 4:00 a.m. EST. An event is seemingly teased to happen in 100 days.
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy POP UP SHOP will run at THE CHARA SHOP (8F) from February 19 to March 11 at Yurakucho Marui in Chiyoda, Tokyo. This POP UP SHOP will feature new “Morning Routine” artwork.
Before the game’s launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, Final Weapon reviewed The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and gave it a 4 out of 5 score. Our review praises the RPG’s intriguing cast of characters, easy pick-up and play combat system, and compelling elements reminiscent of Kodaka’s Danganronpa franchise.
