During CES 2026, GameSir and Hyperkin revealed the X5 Alteron controller for PC, iOS, Android, and both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The controller features swappable button modules that feature layouts based on the Nintendo 64, GameCube, or a fight pad, among others.

Currently, the release date and price of the X5 Alteron are unknown. However, one of many games that you can use the controller with upon its release is Resident Evil Requiem. It launches February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. This past June, Final Weapon had the opportunity to experience hands-off gameplay of Resident Evil Requiem at Summer Game Fest. During The Game Awards 2025, Capcom confirmed that iconic series protagonist Leon Kennedy is making his return as a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem.
