The Pokémon Company has revealed that Pokémon UNITE will add Meowth as a playable character on January 9. He will mark the first new character added to the game in 2026.
While little details about the new character are currently known, the Pokémon UNITE Twitter/X account revealed the first look at Meowth’s design, which you can check out below:
Recently, The Pokémon Company added Mega Charizard X to the growing roster of Pokémon UNITE. To acquire Mega Charizard X in Pokémon UNITE, players must have a Mega Evolution Unite license, which allows Trainers to Mega Evolve their Pokémon after using its Unite Move in battle. The game held an event to celebrate the release, in which players could complete missions to collect research data. The data increases research progress up to a total of 100% and grants research coins. Players could then use research coins to get the Mega Evolution Unite license.
Pokémon UNITE is available now on the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android. The Google Play Store describes the game as follows:
