Hideo Kojima Reveals 2026 Plans for ‘Second Phase’ of Kojima Productions

To celebrate the start of 2026 in Japan, Hideo Kojima revealed his plans for the “Second Phase” of Kojima Productions leading into the company’s “Third Phase.” As outlined by Kojima, Kojima Productions will be moving along various projects in the Second Phase, including PHYSINT.

Kojima Productions will continue development of horror game OD and go ahead with preparations for espionage action title PHYSINT, including casting actors, scanning, and performance capture shoots. The live-action film adaptation of Death Stranding will also make progress, along with animation projects like DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS and DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO. Kojima plans to share more details once more work is finalized.

DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS (working title) is a new anime series coming in 2027 for Disney+. The series is being led by executive producer Hideo Kojima and series producer  Takayuki Sano. The story of DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS is set in the game’s same world and follows a new story. E&H production (Ninja Kamui) is animating the anime’s traditional, hand-drawn 2D animation style with original character designs by Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045).

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the sequel to the original Death Stranding game, is available now for PlayStation 5. A PC version of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was rated by the ESRB.
