Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Announces ‘CrossWorlds Cup’ Creator Tournament

12 content creators will race for a prize pool.

SEGA will be hosting a competitive creator tournament for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, dubbed the “CrossWorlds Cup,” on December 19 at 1:00 p.m. PST. The tournament will be streamed lineup on the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitch Channel.

The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds CrossWorlds Cup creator tournament stars 12 content creators, including Agent 00, CONEY, RealKatieB, and Caroline Kwan, in a mult-stage point championship. There will be a series of 16 races, with each course being featured once. First place receives 15 points, with decreasing number of points won for each position below 1st. The tournament will last three to four hours.

Here’s a break down of the prize pool:

  • $12,000 USD for first place 
  • $5,000 USD for second place 
  • $1,500 USD for third place 
  • $1,500 USD for Time Trials bonus winner

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The Season Pass is available now for $29.99.

The Season Pass includes collaborative content from the following series:

  • Minecraft
    • Playable characters: Steve, Alex, and Creeper
    • Minecraft-themed course and vehicle
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
    • Playable characters: SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick
    • SpongeBob SquarePants-themed course and vehicle
  • PAC-MAN
    • Playable characters: Pac-Man and rival ghosts
    • PAC-MAN-themed course and vehicle
  • Mega Man
    • Playable characters: Mega Man and Proto Man
    • Mega Man-themed course and vehicle
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Avatar Legends

NiGHTS will arrive in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as a playable character alongside the Dream Sleeper Vehicle with a new update this month, followed by AiAi from Super Monkey Ball and the Banana Cruiser Vehicle in January 2026. Sonic the Hedgehog IDW series characters Tangle and Whisper will join the roster in February 2026.
