Published:

Sekai Project and HUNGRYCULT have released the version 1.3.0 update for visual novel HAPPY SAINT SHEOL on PC via Steam with new Steam achievements, new illustrations, user interface improvements, and much more. The new update also introduces a new Cheat Mode.

Patch notes for HAPPY SAINT SHEOL update 1.3.0 can be read below, via the game’s Steam blog post:

HAPPY SAINT SHEOL Update 1.3.0 Patch Notes

Scenario Updates

  • A number of scenes have been more fleshed out to fix the overall flow of the story
  • Display errors in certain scenes, especially in novel mode, have been fixed
  • Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean text issues have been fixed

Graphics Updates

  • New illustrations have been added to the game. Creator and character designer, RaV², has improved their drawing skills in the year since this update was initially announced back in 2024. Many of them are spoilers though so unfortunately we can’t show any of them off in this update!
  • In addition, nearly all existing illustrations have subtle updates and changes as well

UI/UX Updates

  • 400×300 mini size display option has been added to the Settings menu
  • Tutorial screens have been added for users new to visual novels
  • Cheat Mode – One of the biggest updates to version 1.3.0 is the addition of a cheat mode which will allow you to unlock the various content in the game. While there is no penalty for enabling this mode, the game is best enjoyed without it

Steam Achievements

  • As some users have already noticed, Steam Achievements are now available for HAPPY SAIN† SHEOL
  • For users that have cleared a number of endings prior to updating to version 1.3.0, the relevant achievements should unlock on startup
  • PLEASE NOTE: In the case that achievements do not unlock for the above case, persistent data may need to be deleted so it is recommended to have save states in scenes right before clearing an ending to save time

Other Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Auto mode button does not work
  • Fixed an issue where clearing two specific endings after another would lead to an endless loop
  • Fixed an issue where clearing the game would not unlock the ability to change the title screen character graphic
