According to reports, Nintendo Switch 2 kiosks at select retailers now allow visitors to play a short demo for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The game will release on December 4 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The demo, available at Best Buy, Walmart, and more, appears to be the same one that Nintendo featured during Gamescom 2025. It likely won’t be available at locations beyond North America. It is unknown if the demo will come to the Nintedo eShop at a later date.
Recently, Nintendo of America has released an overview trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The overview trailer focuses on what players can expect from Metroid Prime 4. This includes a new look at the game’s setting, Viewros. Further, it shows a new look at the abilities Samus can unlock. These include the traditional morph ball, plus psychic abilities exclusive to Viewros, like the ability to control projectiles. Additionally, the trailer reveals that you can save Galactic Federation soldiers. Each soldier has full voice acting and quite well detailed facial models.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will include two different graphics options: Quality Mode and Performance Mode. You can also play with mouse controls with Joy-Con 2. Lastly, here’s an overview of the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, via Nintendo:
Samus Aran has been unexpectedly transported to the planet Viewros. As she explores the planet for answers, Samus is granted Psychic Abilities – mysterious and ancient powers that allow her to control the trajectory of her beams, operate mechanisms and open doors. Why were these powers bestowed upon Samus and what will her fate be? The threads intertwining beyond space and time will weave a new tale when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond launches on Nintendo Switch this year.
