The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Rocket Shokai and Nakashima723’s Scum of the Brave manga series announced Yumiri Hanamori is joining the cast as Sara Kashiwagi Pendragon. In Scum of the Brave, Sara is a sword-wielding second-year student at the academy.
Scum of the Brave premieres in January 2026 on NTV and affiliate channels.
The cast of the anime includes:
- Ryōta Suzuki as “Shinigami” Yashiro
- Akari Kitō as Aki Jogamine
- Momo Harumi as Yukine Indō
All three aforementioned cast members will appear at an advanced screening of the anime on December 14 at Marunouchi Piccadilly in Tokyo.
Shinji Ushiro directs the anime at OLM. Yoichi Kato writes and oversees the series scripts, Rika Murakami is the character designer, and Kenichiro Suehiro composes the music.

Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004 writer Rocket Shokai launched the story on the Kakuyomu website in February 2016, and the series is being republished into a revised novel format with illustrations by toi8. The manga adaptation launched in 2018 on LEED Publishing’s Comic Border service.
