KAIJU NO. 8: THE GAME Update Introduces ‘The Valkyrie’ Hikari Shinomiya

Akatsuki Games, TOHO CO., and Production I.G have released a new update for KAIJU NO. 8: THE GAME featuring new 5-star character [The Valkyrie] Hikari Shinomiya. The game has also launched its new event series, Special Events.

Hikari Shinomiya makes her debut as the first 5-star Wind Attacker in KAIJU NO. 8: THE GAME. The update also introduces exclusive story content that gives fans a deeper look at Hikari’s legacy as Captain of the Japanese Defense Force’s Second Division, her mastery of the Numbers 4 weapon, and the Shinomiya family’s history with Isao and Kikoru.

The new “Special Events” series will introduce original in-game stories for each character. These events will focus on character back stories, untold episodes, and never-before-seen moments from the daily lives and pasts of fan-favorite characters. The debut limited-time Special Event, Time of Radiant Splendor, focuses on Hikari.

Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is streaming with English dubs and subs on Crunchyroll. Aurora performs the opening theme song “You Can’t Run From Yourself.” OneRepublic performs the ending theme song “Beautiful Colors.”

In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro.
