HoYoverse has released a new “Dev Talk” blog post to details upcoming changes and new features for Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.4 and Version 2.5. These updates will bring forth the “climax” of the Season 2 storyline, and the game will evolve with many notable additions.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.4 will be a “turning point” in the story, as Sarah rushes toward the Creator and Ye Shiyuan makes his arrival. The main storyline’s objects will be much clearer going forward, and there will be optimizations made to improve the plot structure and integrate narrative elements with gameplay. The “converging storylines” design structure aims to let players experience the growth of various characters collectively.
In Version 2.4, Ye Shunguang will gradually get acquainted with the Proxies, and fan-favorite characters from past updates will continue to appear and be relevant in the main story and events. The main story will also have “increased relevance to the Al plotline,” and Inter-Knot will be regularly updated.
There will also be new shops, including the 404 Error live house in front of the Sixth Street metro station and the antique shop Buyan in Failume Heights. The hotpot restaurant will also be open before Season 2 ends. There will also be new ways of getting around town, and HoYoverse teases that such a feature is related to Ye Shunguang’s abilities. The developers will attempt to better integrate certain monster skills with the stages and environments as well.
In addition, there will be “more applications” for Perception Techniques, and Kind Bangboo can help players with Treasure Detection. Main story progression will integrate with map exploration more closely, allowing players to collect rewards while completing missions. Fan-favorite gameplay modes will also be further optimized with more content, and Hollow Zero will be upgraded in nearly all facets.
Multiplayer is also making a comeback with additional exciting mechanics, including joint Chain Attacks and other new mechanics. The new gameplay mode Threshold Simulation will be polished over time for veteran players. What’s more, Version 2.5 will introduce specific power-ups for standard characters. In Version 2.4, Suibian Temple’s management will get a new one-click AFK feature, freeing up your time. Ether Battery quick sweep, Drive Disc sub-stat selection, and in-combat damage compilation will be available in Version 2.5.
