SEGA has released a free content update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds featuring Joker from Persona 5 as a playable character. The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Joker update also adds the Arsène Wing vehicle, three songs from Persona 5 Royal, and special emotes and sounds.
The newly added songs include:
- “Take Over”
- “Wake Up, Get Up, Get out There”
- “Victory”
What’s more, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will host the “Joker Festival” in-game event from October 23 at 8:00 p.m. EDT to October 26 at 7:59 p.m. EDT. World Match will not be available during Joker Festival.
Players can expect even more free and paid DLC characters, including Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon. The Season Pass is also sold separately for $29.99 for players who already bought the Standard Edition.
The Season Pass includes collaborative content from the following series:
- Minecraft
- Playable characters: Steve, Alex, and Creeper
- Minecraft-themed course and vehicle
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- Playable characters: SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick
- SpongeBob SquarePants-themed course and vehicle
- PAC-MAN
- Playable characters: Pac-Man and rival ghosts
- PAC-MAN-themed course and vehicle
- Mega Man
- Playable characters: Mega Man and Proto Man
- Mega Man-themed course and vehicle
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Avatar Legends
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The digital Nintendo Switch 2 version launches in holiday 2025, while the physical copy will release in early 2026. Nintendo Switch users may upgrade to the Switch 2 version for $10.
Thus far, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has surpassed one million copies sold. The following stats were also reached in the short time following launch:
- Over 74.5 million races
- Over 31.5 million Grand Prix played
- Over 13 million Ranked Matches
