The November 2025 issue of Square Enix’s G Fantasy magazine has announced that the Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun manga will go on hiatus with the next issue on November 18. The hiatus is due to Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun author Iro Aida undergoing medical treatment for an unspecified illness.
Going forward, G Fantasy magazine will begin to re-publish previous chapters of the Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun manga. The return of the manga will be announced as soon as it has been decided.
Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India and Southeast Asia. The second season aired over two cours, or quarters of the year. A total of 24 episodes were released in the second season.
Iro Aida launched the ongoing manga in the G-Fantasy magazine in 2014. Aida also released the After-School Hanako-kun spinoff manga in February 2018, and ended it with the 25th chapter in October 2021. Further, Yen Press releases the manga and subsequent volumes at several local and online retailers.
Yen Press describes Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun as follows:
“Hanako-san, Hanako-san…are you there?” At Kamome Academy, rumors abound about the school’s Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Said to occupy the third stall of the third floor girls’ bathroom in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathroom…but the Hanako-san she meets there is nothing like she imagined! Kamome Academy’s Hanako-san…is a boy!
