Square Enix has revealed new details and screenshots for Octopath Traveler 0 going over various new characters, the Monster Arena, and the Museum. The new characters include Pardis III, Pius, Saoirse, Carinda, and Xerc.
Pardis III is known as the Ruler of All, due to his absolute monarchy in the Kingdom of Edoras. His greed knows no bounds, and he initiated an invasion to claim all of Orsterra. It’s up to players to put an end to his ambitions by recruiting a number of different allies who share similar dreams with the protagonist.
Pius (CV: Todd Haberkorn) is a bishop of the Order of the Sacred Flame, and he’s a distant relative of the protagonist’s mother, who was kind to him when he was child. he hopes to the return to the favor to his child, and his job as a Cleric allows him to unleash his Ultimate Technique: Scales of Justice. Scales of Justice lowers physical/elemental defense of all foes and raises physical/elemental attack of all allies for several turns.
Saorise (CV: Brianna Knickerbocker) is a traveling dancer with unique artistic tastes. She possesses extraordinary vocal abilities and seeks a partner that shares her sensibilities and can join her. As a Dancer, Saorise may use Ultimate Technique: Ruinous Aria to give allies the ability to exploit weaknesses regardless of weak points for several turns.
Carinda (CV: Erica Mendez) is a merchant who grew up in a small village on the outskirts of the Riverlands. She can easily find her way into people’s hearts with her warmth and friendliness, and she uses her business sense to ensure she never misses an opportunity to rake in some profit. As a Merchant, Carinda can use Ultimate Technique: Trick of the Trade to raise physical attack of all allies for several turns and grant them the ability to dodge physical attacks once.
Regarded as an eccentric in academic circles, Xerc (CV: Adam Korenman) is a scholar who researches soulstones. His talented assistant is attempting to gather funds in order to study a massive soulstone. As a Scholar, Xerc can use Ultimate Technique: Soulstone’s Might to deal Fire/Ice/Lightning/Wind/Light/Dark damage to all foes one time each.
Octopath Traveler 0 players can build the Monster Arena by progressing the game. Unlock the monster “capture list” and “arena matches” to face off against captive monsters. Players can complete capture requests and win matches in order to earn various rewards.
The Museum lets players play music obtained from “music scores,” revisit memories through “journals,” and display “treasures of legend” that were previously undiscovered in Orsterra. Wishvale’s BGM is customizable, allowing players to enjoy their favorite tunes.
Octopath Traveler 0 launches December 4 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
