Capcom has released a new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, titled “Musashi’s Story.” The game will release in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The 4th trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword focuses on the characters and story of the upcoming release. Check out the “Musashi’s Story” trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword below:
Onimusha is rooted in the Sengoku period, Japan’s legendary age of warring states. The games infuse history with Japanese folklore to tell tales of warriors who wield the mystical power of the Oni. These heroes are drawn into conflict with the Genma, relentless monsters hellbent on conquering the world. The Steam page describes Way of the Sword as follows:
Fight through bloodstained battlefields of intense swordplay action. Explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-era Kyoto, twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice. With every stage cloaked in mystery, danger and intrigue. Battle against monstrosities from the underworld known as Genma in a tale of dark fantasy.
Follow the tale of a samurai who wields the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artifact that grants its bearer the power to slay Genma.
Through gritty, blood-soaked brawls, he searches for his reason to fight. What fate awaits at the end of his path?
Additionally, we had a chance to preview the game during Summer Game Fest 2025. We stated that, “Overall, Onimusha: Way of the Sword looks absolutely incredible. The combat system seems to have a ton to offer, and I am ecstatic to see what else Capcom has in store for this game next year. If my preview was anything to go by, we are in for a real treat in 2026.”
