Critical Reflex has announced that Eclipsum will release for PC via Steam on September 19. Additionally, an updated demo for the game is available now on Steam.
Eclipsum features a first-person perspective as you wander through a “a sunless world” which has begun to devour itself. The demo will feature “never-before-seen locations, a visual overhaul, and your first interaction with “Her,” the mysterious figure that will follow you throughout the full game.”
The Steam page describes the game as follows:
Longing for light, a sunless world begins devouring itself. Every step shifts the landscape beneath you as you search for what remains of her.
Don’t stop
You will find no safety or comforts within Eclipsium. Let pale light guide you along your perilous journey.
Enter the spiral
Lights fade and senses dull at the presence of the looming Heart, its steady beat the only constant in a world devouring itself. It’s hunger lurking just beneath your skin.
Find her
Her weak light, now little more than a whisper of a memory, pulls you forward. Even if it’s a lure, it remains your only hope inside the anguished eclipse.
In 2024, Critical Reflex released its most beloved game to date, Mouthwashing. Physical editions, as well as console versions, are set to release later this year. The game is currently available on PC via Steam. In our review, we described Mouthwashing as “a magnificent horror game that accomplishes so much in spite of the limited resources.
Despite its short runtime and few gameplay sequences, the sequences that are there create so much tension and add great depth to its main characters. Further, its visual style is filled with surprises that will constantly keep players at the edge of their seats.”
