SEGA released the new “Competition” trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds highlighting various game modes and features. These modes include Grand Prix, World Match, Friend Match, Race Park, Time Trial, and Custom Match with cross-play support.

In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, players can enjoy Grand Prix solo or with friends in local split screen in one of seven cups, comprised of 4 races each. Racers are awarded points based on placement at the end of races. Similarly, players can test their skills online against 11 other players in World Match to earn Rank Points, increase their World Rank, and claim victory. Race with up to 11 other players in custom lobbies online or up to four players locally with split-screen in Custom Match with a variety of settings for Speed, Team Size, Course/CrossWorlds, AI Difficulty, Frenzy Gates, Items, and Rule Sets.

Moreover, the Race Park mode is available online and offline as a party mode that features six different race formats. Those wanting to hone their racing skills can head to the Time Trial mode to score their best time on individual courses and rise up the ranks of the leaderboard. The game also features a Rival System, where players are randomly assigned a rival racer for the duration of the four Grand Prix races. The rival will playfully taunt the main racer with unique dialogue interactions and pose an ongoing challenge, allowing for fun competition within the main races.
