A newly launched website announced that Sanrio’s Hoppe-chan is getting an anime in 2026 titled HOPPECHAN: Mystery of the Sun Kingdom and the Black-Cheek Team. The anime is based on Sun Jewelry’s original character Hoppe-chan. Additionally, a teaser was released along with information on the staff and cast.

The cast and staff of the HOPPECHAN: Mystery of the Sun Kingdom anime include:
- Rin Kusumi as Ganso Hoppe-chan
- Kyoko Kuramochi as Ohana Hoppe-chan
- Ayaka Takamura as Star Hoppe-chan
- Misatoran as Glasses Hoppe-chan
- Ayasa Ito as Heart Hoppe-chan
- Neo Tanaka as Tiara Hoppe-chan
- Sachi as Hoho Sato
Nabeshige is directing the anime at Toon Harbor Works. Sun Jewelry is credited for the original work. Gurin and Issa Kawaguchi are designing the characters. Yōko Yonaiyama is handling the series scripts and also writing them, along with Takahiro Nagano and Saji Komori.

The anime centers around the events of the Sun Kingdom. Ganso Hoppe-chan, who has lost her memory, suddenly appears in the kingdom. Likewise, in the real world, Hoho, a regular office worker, plagued by bad thoughts and anxiety, gradually loses her confidence. However, one day, Ganso Hoppe-chan and Hoho’s paths cross. Back in Sun Kingdom, toxic Hoppe-chan creatures are wreaking havoc, and Ganso Hoppe-chan joins the “Guardians” to protect the kingdom.
