Sanrio and Sunblink announced the Hello Kitty Island Adventure Friendship Festival event will be held from July 27 to August 23. The Friendship Festival event celebrates the two-year anniversary of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Kuromi’s 20th anniversary, and My Melody’s 50th anniversary.
During the Friendship Festival event, players can also venture into the Spooky Swamp to see what Kuromi is up to. Hello Kitty Island Adventure players can take selfies to collect Friendship Charms, which can be exchanged at the Friendship Stage for Art Deco decor and recipes.
Moreover, two new physical editions for Hello Kitty Island Adventure for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The standard physical edition of Hello Kitty Island Adventure will cost $39.99 and be available at local retailers on August 29. On November 7, the $59.99 Gift Box edition will release. It will include Deluxe Starter and Crafting Bundles, a printed Critter and Fish guide, a set of exclusive collectable cards, Tophat’s Memories, and a premium double-sided poster.
Before launch, Final Weapon had the opportunity to preview Hello Kitty Island Adventure, which showed that it was shaping up to be an excellent title at the time. Final Weapon also reviewed Hello Kitty Island Adventure and gave it a 4/5 score, claiming it to be the perfect vacation for Sanrio fans.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is now available on Nintendo Switch, Apple Arcade, and PC via Steam, and a PlayStation 5 version is coming soon. Lastly, the game has exceeded 500,000 copies sold as of March 2025.
