Bandai Namco Filmworks confirmed the next experimental video for the Blue Gale Xabungle anime, titled Blue Gale Xabungle Side R, will release in fall 2025. Blue Gale Xabungle Side R follows up on the first experimental video released on May 14, titled Blue Gale Xabungle Side L.
The Blue Gale Xabungle Side R video will be produced by Sunrise Robot Laboratory and Bandai Namco Filmworks. Idol unit Hōkago Climax Girls from The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors will contribute a new song for the video to “reinterpret” the original anime in a new way.
Previously, Bandai Namco Filmworks and Kamikaze Douga collaborated on Blue Gale Xabungle Side L. Junpei Mizusaki is the video’s director, technical director, and creative producer. Banjō Ginga, who narrated the original Blue Gale Xabungle anime, provided narration for the video.
Blue Gale Xabungle initially aired in 1982. An anime film adapting the series would later release in 1983. The original anime is available to watch on HIDIVE. The streaming service describes it as follows:
On the planet Zora, there are two societies: the Innocent and the Civilians. Jiron Amos seeks revenge against the outlaw who killed his parents, but in a world where Civilian crimes are forgiven if they’re not brought to justice within three days, there’s little he can do. Taking his revenge into his own hands, Jiron steals the mecha Xabungle and teams up with a group of bandits, the Sandrats. As his quest continues, Jiron’s actions sow the seeds of rebellion against the Innocent
