Kerry Shawcross, writer and director of the RWBY series, has announced that Volume 10 is in the early writing and planning stages of development. The announcement comes courtesy of Anime Expo 2025 during the VIZ Media panel.

In a message on the official RWBY Twitter/X account, Shawcross said the following about Volume 10: “I’m very excited to share that we’re super deep in…early writing and planning. I know it’s been a long journey, and we’re incredibly grateful for your patience up to this point, especially knowing there’s still a long road ahead. But for now, I want to thank the fandom for sticking with us as we keep moving forward. More soon.”

The late Monty Oum originally created RWBY at Rooster Teeth. The production company was created in 2001 and worked on several media franchises such as Red vs. BlueGen;Lock, and more. It also had a YouTube channel that focused on Let’s Plays. Warner Bros. shut down the production company in May 2024. Last year, VIZ Media confirmed that it has acquired the distribution rights for the series.

RWBY is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll. It describes the series as follows:

In a world filled with horrific monsters bent on death & destruction, humanity’s hope lies with powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long are four such Huntresses whose journeys will take them far past the grounds of their school, Beacon Academy.

Though each may be powerful on their own, these four girls must overcome dark forces and work as a team if they truly hope to become the next generation of Remnant’s protectors.
