At Anime Expo 2025, Cloverworks revealed that its original anime film, Grotesqqque, will be airing in 2026. However, the exact release date has not yet been made available. Alongside the announcement, a trailer was revealed for the upcoming Grotesqqque anime.

Atsushi Nishigori, known for his work on DARLING in the FRANXX, is directing the film. The studio revealed that the anime will be an omnibus film of different worldviews. These include:
- Aeliens
- 4649 Girl
- Nocturne
This film is from JOEN, a company founded by Sony Media’s subsidiary Aniplex, CloverWorks animation studio, Production I.G’s sister company Wit Studio, and publisher Shueisha. Popular Cloverworks producer Yūichi Fukushima and Wit Studio producer Tetsuya Nakatake are the representative directors of JOEN.
