The anime will premiere on August 24

At Anime Expo 2025, GeeXPlus, Dwango, and Kadokawa’s internet influencer talent agency subsidiary, announced the creation of GeeXProductions’ IP division. The division aims to create creator-centered, YouTube-first projects in the anime space. They will be producing popular YouTube influencer Gigguk’s anime short film Baan -The Boundaries of Adulthood- (Baan -Otona no Kyōkai-).

The anime will premiere theatrically at Grand Cinema Sunshine in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, on August 24, before it airs on Gigguk’s YouTube channel. Additionally, a behind-the-scenes video will be released on the channel.

Baan will focus on two worlds: Japan and the fictional world of Euthania, which is connected to Japan through a gate. It follows the life of Arai Daichi and Rinrada Ratchamanee, two people searching for a place they belong. Daichi is a man whose family problems force him to flee to Euthania, while Rinrada, a young woman leaving her village for the first time, is heading to Japan.

The cast and staff of the anime include:

    • Haruna Mikawa as Rin
    • Shōya Ishige as Daichi

Yoshimitsu Ōhashi, known for his work on Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, is directing the anime at studio Daisy. Kevin Penkin, who worked on The Rising of the Shield Hero and The Apothecary Diaries, is composing the music.

Apart from Gigguk’s anime announcement, several other projects were announced, including Dillon Goo’s original 12-episode 3D Blender animation, Soul Mart, and OtakuVS’s indie animated short series, Otachan! Rabbit Season.
