To kick off Anime Expo 2025, CyberAgent, Inc. announced the launch of a new anime project titled “Project M.” A new teaser visual for Project M was also revealed, and it will be showcased at CyberAgent’s booth during Anime Expo 2025 from July 3 to 6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The visual depicts a close-up of a mysterious character’s emerald green eye, with a single butterfly flapping its wings within it. As described by CyberAgent, the ethereal design is mean to conjure countless interpretations from those who view the teaser visual, while invoking a deep sense of beauty, mystery, and narrative intrigue.
Along with the release of the new visual, the teaser website and official X (formerly Twitter) account for Project M are now open. More details and information about the anime project will be released via official channels in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

The TV anime adaptation of The Summer Hikaru Died will premiere on July 5 on Netflix. Ahead of the July 5 premiere, a special screening titled “The Summer Hikaru Died – The North American Premiere of Episode 1″ will be held on July 4 at Anime Expo 2025. It will be accompanied by a special talk panel featuring original author Mokumokuren and Yoshiki Tsujinaka voice actor Chiaki Kobayashi, and the producers.
