HIDIVE has announced the TV anime adaptation of Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! will be streaming on the platform as it airs in Japan in October 2025. Hero Without a Class will be part of a slate of exclusive anime simulcasts on HIDIVE for the fall 2025 season.
Ahead of the fall premiere, HIDIVE will present the world premiere of Hero Without a Class episode 1 will be held at Anime NYC 2025, which takes place from August 21 to 24 in New York City.
“We’re thrilled to reveal Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! as the first in our slate of exclusive simulcasts series for Fall 2025,” said HIDIVE president John Ledford in a press release. “Everybody loves a hero and fans need look no further than this new action-packed fantasy series. Get ready to experience a new kind of hero this fall. And only on HIDIVE!”
Kenshō Ono will play Arel, Saori Hayami will play Reiner, and Sumire Uesaka will be Lilia. Kaoru Yabana will direct the series at Studio A-Cat, Chabo Higurashi will supervise and write the series’ scripts, and Hiroto Morishita is the sound director. Further, Kento Asahina will compose the soundtrack. In Japan, the series will air on TV networks and d Anime Store.
Shichio Kuzu wrote the novel series, which initially released on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Be Novelists) website in November 2017. Earth Star Entertainment began publishing it in 2018 with illustrations by Yumehito Ueda in July 2018, followed by Akio Nanae’s manga adaptation in November 2018. One Peace Books publishes the manga via several local and online retailers.
