Warner Bros. Japan revealed an update on the upcoming new TV anime adaptation of Buronson and Tetsuo Hara’s Fist of the North Star manga by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara, confirming it will premiere in 2026. The new anime is titled Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star-, and it will celebrate the franchise’s 40th anniversary.
A new key visual for the upcoming Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star- anime series was also revealed. More details about the anime will be revealed at Anime Expo 2025, which runs from July 3 to 6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The anime’s producer will appear at the Warner Bros. industry panel with a teaser trailer and announcement of the main cast.

The original Fist of the North Star manga was serialized from 1983 to 1988 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. In 1984, a TV anime adaptation began and popularized the franchise. Fist of the North Star influenced and inspired many popular anime and manga works over the many decades.
