During the latest episode of NGS Headline WAVE, SEGA revealed its roadmap of updates for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis launching in the second half of 2025. In addition, SEGA announced a collaboration between Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis and Touhou Project.
Alter Realm Exploration: Interception Sectors will arrive in July 2025 as a new 32-player quest type where players must defeat boss enemies in waves in the Alter Realm. The July 2025 updates will also bring a variety of new Limited-time Quests and Tasks, the new 13-star Rarity Juvolg weapon series, a new Urgent Quest Rank, and a collab with the original plastic model series Arcanadea.
In August 2025, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will receive a major class update, along with an Touhou Project AC Scratch Ticket featuring cosmetics of characters from the beloved series. The class update brings expansions for the Waker class and balance adjustments for the Fighter and Gunner classes. Adjustments to Chain Boost will also be implemented. Moreover, players can expect a Super Phantasy Festival, new Mini Episode content, and summer-themed Limited-time Quests.
In September, a new Combat Sector will be added to the Alter Realm. In October, the class level cap will be raised to 110 and the EX Style system will be introduced. EX Style is a new system that expands player actions, acting like a third class. December and January 2026 will mark the return of the Super Genesis Festival, and a collaboration with a SEGA game will be held. A new Nameless City will be introduced in February 2025.
Lastly, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store, Windows, and Steam. The PSO2NGS Web Store is live with deals on in-game items, including AC bundles.
