Shogakukan’s NOVELOUS light novel and manga app has opened the My Anime List x Honeyfeed Writing Contest, allowing fans to vote for the next anime-inspired story from the best English-original light novels. The contest will be active until July 24, 2025, with winners being announced on August 4.
In the My Anime List x Honeyfeed Writing Contest on NOVELOUS, judges have selected ten finalists from almost 500 submissions. Anime fans in North America can vote for their favorite original light novel within the NOVELOUS app, and finalists have the opportunity to have their stories featured within NOVELOUS for the first time. The three finalists will win a total of $9,000.
- $3,000 – Highest-voted story in the “Love Transcends Boundaries” prompt category
- $3,000 – Highest-voted story in the “The End is Now” prompt category
- $3,000 – Light novel with the most votes overall from official event judges
NOVELOUS is available on iOS and Android. Readers can unlock long-term access to new chapters with the in-app Gold Coin currency. There are also free Silver Coins, which give readers short term access to new stories without commitment. Dozens of Japan’s favorite works by Shogakukan, including Witch and Hound and Kengan Ashura, are available to read within the app.
On the app, users can share their favorite series with friends and family, rate and leave impressions, and make use of dedicated character icons and speech bubbles for easier reading. Users can unlock long-term access to new chapters with in-app Paid coins or use Free coins for short-term access without commitment.
